## Whitelist Protection

When the toggle is ON (recommended & default):

* You can only send to Contacts marked Active.
* Manual address pasting is completely blocked.

When you turn it OFF (rarely needed):\
A confirmation modal forces you to acknowledge the risk:

> “Are you sure you want to deactivate whitelist protection? A 48-hour deactivation period will begin, during which you will still be able to transfer to any active Contacts.\
> Once inactive, you can enter any valid pubkey for transfers.”

Result → Even if you decide to disable it, you get a mandatory 48-hour cooling-off period before raw addresses are allowed. This makes phishing or panicked mistakes effectively impossible.

{% hint style="info" %}
Keep Whitelist ON, keep your 5 most important destinations saved, and you’ll never worry about sending funds to the wrong address again.
{% endhint %}
